One of my go to pasta dishes is this pasta with crispy sausage and cream sauce made with cheese, cream, basil, onions and garlic. The creaminess of the cheese with the combination on the crisped sausage and other flavors from the sauce is just too alluring to resist. This recipe comes together so first and it’s perfect for a quick dinner. Oh and feel free to change up the vegetables, I only used carrots for this recipe but you can also add in some peas, sugar snaps or broccoli, they’d still taste great!
Ingredients:
- 2cups gnocchi pasta
- 4 pieces of sausages (cut into small pieces)
- 1 red onion

Wash pasta using cold water and strain.
With a little oil, crisp up the sausage over medium heat in a nonstick pan until the sausage is brown and crisp, drain on a paper towel.
On the same pan add onions and garlic on low medium heat till its softened; add the carrots and cook, about 5 minutes.
Pour in the cream, milk and some grated parmesan cheese into the sauce, thin the sauce with pasta water if needed. Add basil leaves and stir.
Add the pasta and sausage back to the pan. Toss everything together till it’s well coated.

To finish it off sprinkle on a little more cheese. Serve hot.
