Let’s face it: plain oatmeal can get boring. Though it’s loaded with soluble fiber that can reduce cholesterol and keep you full, basic oatmeal sometimes just doesn’t cut it. So if you’re looking for oatmeal that will really wake your taste buds, this is it.

This recipe only uses two simple ingredients that am almost certain are in your pantry; cinnamon and cocoa. This will give the oats a punch of flavor and make it much tastier. Sliced bananas make beautiful garnish. You can also try coconut flakes, almonds or whatever suits your fancy.


  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup oatmeal
  • 1 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ tsp. cinnamon
  • ¼ cup milk
  • Sugar to taste




Bring the water to a boil, add oatmeal, milk and cocoa and let it cook for about 5 minute then add a pinch of cinnamon.

Remove from heat, add sugar to your liking and enjoy hot.
